So last night didn't work out too well. Because I'm insane, I did sit out and watch in the little clear patches of sky that occasionally went overhead, and was rewarded with 4 Perseids (plus two satellites, and something like 10 fireflies). Now tonight is looking like we wished last night was - almost perfectly clear, cool, and calm. The Perseids do have a "broad peak", so there is a good chance to see maybe 10 an hour from 8:30-midnight. If you're up to giving it a second chance, go out, face east, and give it a shot.
